Oracle POS - Loyalty Requirements

Contents

Open Questions

  • For Click and Collect, are we using the same PLU for offers and rewards that we use for in-store? This is a requirement (just need to check that it is met today).

Assumptions

  • BK DE has enabled one pilot store with Oracle. Loyalty is not supported by that store, but scanning of offers is (static only). Multi-scanning, scanning of rewards or Loyalty code and scanning of offers while signed in is not supported.

  • RBI has a target of launching 100 stores by end of 2024

  • These 100 stores will all be BK DE, where the Kiosk is Smoothr because other providers (Tillster and Acrelec) are not yet integrated with Oracle.

  • Click and Collect will be enabled on a store by store basis as it becomes ready.

  • Oracle software is the same that is in use in BK NL (with configuration changes). Therefore this gap analysis assumes that features currently in use by BK NL will also be available for BK DE.

Oracle

to do

Need to test to understand if personalized offers are supported in the in-store journey today.

REQUIRED to enable Loyalty

Deposits do not count toward loyalty points calculation

Oracle

IN PROGRESS

Requirement discussed with Oracle and understood. SOW shared, awaiting RBI acceptance.

POSSIBLE to launch without this feature. Impact: extra points earned by guests when they pay deposits.

Pay@Counter between Kiosk vendor and Oracle is supported

BK DE and RBI

to do

BK DE reported that initial tests showed pay@counter with loyalty is not working. RBI to help investigate root cause to identify solution(s) and owner. Documented here:

POSSIBLE to launch without this feature. Impact: guests have to re-order at the counter if they want to earn their loyalty points.

Non-Loyalty stores are supported

Oracle

to do

Oracle to add a warning message to inform the cashier that the guest will not earn loyalty points. Documented here:

NOT NEEDED for the pilot, but will be required before Toshiba can be decommissioned in non-loyalty stores.

Delivery

Currently, delivery orders are received by Simply Delivery and manually entered into the POS terminal. There is no plan to change this approach and therefore no requirements for Loyalty.

All menu items, offers and rewards can be ordered online

Khumbu, then RBI with BK DE

TBC

BK DE to set up all required PLU’s in Oracle and associate them with the respective menu items in Sanity. Development needed by Khumbu to translate Partner API payloads into the format expected by Oracle. RBI and BK DE to test afterwards. To discuss internally what the current status is.

POSSIBLE to replace Toshiba with Oracle without Click & Collect, since BK DE does not have it today.

Loyalty points are only assigned when the order is picked up

Oracle

TBC

Similar feature to what exists in Winrest - operator can confirm when a C&C order has been picked up by the guest. Loyalty points are only earned at this point. No development required by RBI (has already been done).

POSSIBLE to launch without this feature. Impact: possibility of fraud.

Deposits do not count for loyalty points

BK DE

TBC

Same calculation that Oracle will do for in-store orders. Needs to be tested for online ordering. Development work already done by RBI for Delivery orders, no changes expected.

POSSIBLE to launch without this feature. Impact: extra points earned by guests when they pay deposits.
