Pricing & Availability (P&A) management ensures the guests are only able to order menu items that are available, for the correct price configured by you. PLUs (price look-up codes) are utilized to manage P&A in our platforms.
What is a PLU?
PLU stands for price look-up code and is a unique identifier of a product. These are usually 4 or 5 digit numbers and are used by the POS (Point of Sale) to read a product. The POS will hold information associated to each PLU, such as price, or stock, and that is why we need to digitally link each product to its PLU.

Pricing & Availability - Source of Truth
For menu P&A, the source of truth is either the POS or the Digital Operations Portal (DOP) depending on the integration in your brand/market. While a part of the configuration (mainly PLU definition) is still managed in Sanity via the PLU Management & Configuration , the actual values for the PLUs either come from the POS or the DOP.
For P&A management via the Digital Operations Portal, refer to Pricing & Availability Management via the Digital Operations Portal.
For new POS integrations, please contact your CSM to manage the project plan viaPOS Ordering.
