Overview
What is a Picker?
A picker is a higher level product concept that combines combos and/or items. On the example below, we have created a picker called “Whopper” which would be the higher level concept, then it would compile under it all the different options for a Whopper which can be : the whopper medium meal (“MEDIUM”), the whopper large meal (“LARGE”) and the whopper single item (“À LA CARTE” = ALC).
Advantage of Pickers
This way, when guests navigates to the “Flame-grilled burgers” section, they see the “Whopper” picker instead of seeing the whopper medium meal, the whopper large meal and the whopper menu item. When they click on the picker, they will choose between a large combo, a medium combo and the ALC product, and other aspects that can be configured.
Examples
in case we want to link this picker to the whopper bacon and/or cheese MDS menu items, we would add a picker aspect with the “bacon, cheese, bacon & cheese” options;
in case we want guests to be able to add cheese and/or bacon to the item, but without making it a new item, we would not add this picker aspect - we would simply have these ingredients as modifiers. For more info on modifiers click here.
Another example is the Chicken Nuggets picker below, which contains the Nuggets Pieces and the Nuggets Meal Size picker aspects.

Options | Everything we would like to include in the section.If we have picker aspects we would have to map each item to each picker aspect response. Example: Picker Aspect Combo Size ( options: A la Carte, Small,Medium and Large). Picker options: Picker aspect A la Carte-> Bacon Cheeseburger item, Picker aspect Small-> Bacon Cheeseburger Meal Small, Picker aspect Medium-> Bacon Cheeseburger Meal Medium, Picker aspect Large-> Bacon Cheeseburger Meal Large. This will help us know when a user selects one or the other picker aspect to know what item to link it to. |
