Different elements build upon each other to form a menu. Starting from bottom to top will make your menu creation composition a lot easier.

Glossary

Section: It is used to subdivide the menu in the correct categories to ease user interaction with the app

Picker: The original button clicked from a user perspective, where the guest “picks” the item they want. This leads to the various options from that original “pick”.

Picker Aspect: Encompasses all upsells that change the PLU (Combo Size Picker Aspect, Upsell Picker Aspect) Example : Upsell Picker Aspect- Bacon, Cheese

Combo: Every item that can be sold as a combo (“Whopper Meal Small”, “Whopper Meal Medium”)

Combo Slot: The options that come with ordering a combo, goes under Combos  (“Small Combo Sides”, “Medium Combo Drinks”, “Large Breakfast Sides”…)

Item: Each menu item the user can purchase

Modifier: Ingredients that the brand allows to get modified in each item like:

  • Tomato

  • Lettuce

  • Pickle

Modifier Multiplier: Modifier Multipliers are options within a modifier, the ingredients that the brand allows to get modified in each item. For example:

  • No Tomato

  • Regular Tomato

  • Extra Tomato

Options: Anything in a given menu document the user can modify without changing the item into a new item(e.g. a new PLU)
