Update restaurant information

As explained in the document, restaurant documents and its information is fed to Sanity via a sync with MDM. This means that our platform will get the existing restaurant information from MDM and load it into Sanity. Therefore, to update restaurant information, changes need to be done at the source – in MDM.

There’s two way to update information in MDM – via RAM or via GBS request. Let’s have a look at both.

Updating information via RAM

RAM allows franchisees to directly edit the restaurant information stored in MDM.

Using the Restaurant Attributes Management tool https://ram.rbi.com/ , you will be able to see and edit certain attributes of your restaurants.

Some of the attributes that can be changed in RAM are:

  • Service Mode

  • Hours of Operation information

  • POS vendor

  • Mobile Ordering

  • Mobile Ordering Status

In summary, to edit a restaurant’s attributes in RAM:

  1. Look up for the restaurant using the search bar. You can filter by different attributes (store id, country…)

  2. Click on the view button on the restaurant card

  3. Once you’re on the restaurant view, click on the edit icon on the top right of the page. You’ll be able to change the fields that are surfaced in RAM

Detailed guides on how to use RAM can be found here:

Note that not all restaurant attributes can be edited via RAM. In the case you’d like to edit an attribute not available in RAM, you’ll need to open a GBS request as described in the following section

Updating information via GBS Request

The GBS team can manually perform changes in MDM.

You can also updated restaurant attributed by sending a request to the GBS team.

  • For simple changes to one restaurant, you can send an email to gbsrequest@rbi.com explaining the required change. Use the following template:

Notes on updating specific fields

Address fields

In MDS you’ll find two fields for address:

  1. Customer facing address – this is the field used internally by MDS. It’s editable in RAM.

  1. Physical address – this is the address that is sync’d with Sanity and used by our platform to display the restaurant in the Store Locator. It’s not editable in RAM – to edit it, please follow the GBS Request process described above

Service mode fields

  • Dine in always needs to be enabled for the store to be open in our platform

  • TA/DT/Delivery etc. as applicable

Hours of Operation fields

  • Dine in always needs to be filled in for the store to be open in our platform

  • TA/DT/Delivery etc. as applicable

Mobile Ordering fields

  • When POS ordering integration is concluded, mobile ordering should be activated in each restaurant that will have mobile ordering:

    • For click & collect AND/OR Delivery to work, it is essential to have the following:

      • POS = {name of POS vendor is RBI’s systems} (e.g., POS = PARTNER)

      • Mobile Ordering = ENABLED if restaurant will accept mobile orders (click and collect and/or delivery)

      • Mobile Ordering Status = LIVE (click and collect and/or delivery)

  • If mobile ordering will not be activated yet, the restaurant POS should not be turned on for mobile ordering. Hence, “Has Mobile Ordering” should be marked as “No”
