Mitigating Payment Processing Risks

Currently, in the Iberia region, the Guest App integrates with PAYCOMET for payment processing. PAYCOMET integrates with SIBS which is the central PSP for the Iberia region. SIBS then integrates with VISA, MASTERCARD, and other credit companies to process the payment.

VISA and SIBS have recently updated their data requirements for payment authorization requests but the Guest App currently does not send all the new required information. Because of this, PAYCOMET fills in the missing required information with dummy data to guarantee that the payment will not be declined by the lack of required information.

Iberia wants to take ownership of the data being sent to SIBS, sending correct customer information is heavily suggested by both PAYCOMET and SIBS as it has a direct influence on conversion for payment authorization. Also, companies like VISA always reinforce the importance of sending real customer data.
