Phone number authentication

This feature allows guests to identify (i.e. register and sign in to the web and app) via a phone number. If guests choose to authenticate with a phone number, they follow a similar journey as the guests who authenticate with an email:

  1. enter the phone number

  2. verify ownership of the phone number via a 6 digit code they receive via SMS.

It is important to note that email authentication will be available, even when the phone number authentication is enabled.

An SMS provider service is required, to deliver the SMS messages to customers.

Below are screenshots for the registration and sign in, when the feature is enabled. We determine, based on what the customer types, if they want to authenticate via an email or a phone number. In the next step, the verification code is delivered via an email message, respectively an SMS.
