Braze Campaign Segments

Context

We are standardising the attributes we are using to target opted in users across markets, migrating from CUSTOM ATTRIBUTES to NATIVE ATTRIBUTES in Braze. 

Why is this happening?

The marketingEmail and marketingPush custom attributes were created on the RBI platform a long time ago. Since then, Braze has created their own native attributes to accomplish the same purpose. They recommend using these instead.

Braze Segment Filters

Please use the following segment filters in Braze when targeting customers who have opted in to email and/or push notifications

  • Email Address is not blank AND Email Subscription Status is 'Opted In'

  • Email Address is not blank AND Push Subscription Status is 'Opted In'

The subscription status of a customer can be checked under the Engagement tab of the User profile page

 

The custom attributes ‘marketingEmail’ and ‘marketingPush’ will be deprecated shortly
