Catcher

This guide provides detailed instructions on how to assign a Catcher driver for order delivery using the Delivery Management Platform (DMP).

Prerequisites

  • The "Catcher" option must be enabled, and the Location ID must be entered in DOP.

  • Access: Ensure you have access to the DMP with necessary permissions to log in.

  • Order Creation: An order must be created and ready for delivery within the DMP.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Enable Catcher on DOP

To ensure the "Catcher" option appears in the dropdown menu of available delivery drivers, it must be activated within the FZ Portal.

On DMP

  • Access Order Details

Navigate to the Orders Tab and click on the relevant order to view its details.

  • Assign a Catcher Driver

In the order details section, find and click on the option to assign a driver. Then, choose the "Catcher" option from the dropdown menu. A confirmation modal will appear to verify the assignment. Selecting this confirms and initiates the search for an available Catcher driver.

  • Await Driver Acceptance

Request in Progress: The system will display a loading indicator while searching for an available Catcher driver.

Driver Acceptance: Once a Catcher driver accepts the delivery request, their details (name and contact information) will be displayed in the order details section, with a “Cancel Assignment” Button.

  • Track the Delivery Process

Order Pickup: When the Catcher driver collects the order from the restaurant, it will move the order to the On Delivery column in the platform to track its delivery status.

Delivery Completion: Upon successful delivery, the order status will automatically update to Delivered and the order will move to the Order History section for future reference.

Driver Cancellation

  • Be aware that the Catcher driver has the option to “set the order free” if they have not yet arrived at the restaurant. In This case, the order will go back to the loading modal, waiting for another driver to accept it.

  • If for some reason Catcher manager cancels the delivery request if no driver accepts the request, a message will be returned on DMP and the manager can choose to cancel or try again.
